She is strong in her convictions
And her rules cannot be bent
Won't accept just any answers for the questions she is sent
And she searches her heart diligently for what she can find
Before she ever tells you what is on her mind.
She's been trained for this position
From every Priestess she has met
"Trial by fire"'s the only training most of us will ever get
And she yearns to pass the learning on
To those who wish to share.
Do you set yourself in judgement
When you don't know who she is?
When you label her with Goddess-itis.
It's not easy being Priestess when she's Wife and Mother and
Works a full-time job outside the home,
Helps family and helps friends;
Passing on the knowledge of the Ways
To those who choose her path.
When does she get time to even take a bath?
Do you know how many years
That she's been training in this Way?
Writing classes, Moons, and Sabbats,
Living Wicca every day?
Do you know how many festivals or rituals she's seen?
Do you know the places where her mind has been?
Do you set yourself in judgement
When you don't know who she is?
When you label her with Goddess-itis.
She has watched so many students come to study and to learn
But when effort is required there are many who in turn
Take whatever they can get from her as long as it is free.
Break her heart; and still she tells them "Blessed Be".
There's a saying that you have to walk a mile in her shoes
Or you haven't any grounds to judge her -
No right to accuse.
All the hard work that you think that
You have done cannot compare
To the burdens your High Priestess has to bear.
Don't you set yourself in judgement,
You don't know just who she is.
So now, whose the one with Goddess-itis?
