Yamaya's Altar

Picture of altar

This altar is for Yamaya, whom some call Aphrodite, and She also has other names. She loves shells, and there are many on the table to represent Her sea realm. She also loves beads, and other jewelry and so we have adorned Her with those as well. The candle sits upon a flat piece of coral I brought home from the beach one day, and covered the bottom with felt so as not to scratch the table. This also makes a handy surface for the two shells which are holding honey, and dark Jamaican rum - our libations to the Goddess.

I also keep a perpetual flame on this altar, and there is in addition an incense burner here. Notice that beneath the altar is a garden clay statue of Pan blowing His pipes. He prefers being there, in the shadows, rather than in the limelight, where He can adore Her quietly.
